Water baptism is a Christian practice where a believer is immersed in water as a symbol of their faith in Jesus Christ.

Definition
Water baptism is an outward act that represents an inward change. It shows that a person has repented of their sins, accepted Jesus as Savior, and is committing to live a new life in Him.

Biblical Meaning
-
Death, Burial, Resurrection, Going under the water symbolizes being buried with Christ, and coming up out of the water represents rising with Him into new life (Romans 6:3–4).
-
Cleansing – The water represents being washed and made new through Christ’s blood (Acts 22:16).
-
Public Declaration – Baptism is a way of openly saying, “I belong to Jesus” (Acts 2:38–41)

What It Is Not
-
Baptism itself does not save a person, faith in Jesus does (Ephesians 2:8–9).
-
It is not just a tradition; it’s a command from Christ and an act of obedience.

Water baptism is a public testimony of faith in Jesus Christ. It’s a visible sign of an invisible grace, showing the world that you’ve died to your old life and have been raised to new life in Christ.
